4-Bed Private Home w/ Pool – 7 Min to Beach & Golf

Perfect get away for the family Positive: One of the best stays we’ve had. The house was spotless with attention to detail and great decor. The towels folded into animals on the beds were a nice touch and our kids loved them. There was plenty of space, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen was organized and very well equipped. The pool was a highlight, and we appreciated that the house came with beach chairs, towels, coolers, and toys. The double washer and dryer made laundry easy for our whole group. The neighborhood felt safe and quiet, with a peaceful pond out back where we watched the ducks and turtles. The beach and John's Pass were only about a 10 minute drive away. There were also plenty of great food options nearby. One night we ventured to downtown St Pete, which was an easy 25 min drive. We loved walking along the water and dinner at Fresco's Waterfront Bistro. The hosts Chris and Samantha were incredibly responsive and created an online information guide. It was super convenient to plan our next stop while on the go. We look forward to coming back and couldn’t recommend this place more.

Missed the mark Positive: The house was tucked into a cute neighborhood and had a good curbside appearance. We felt safe in the area. Esthetically the kitchen and living room were very nice at first glance. The house was spacious. There were a lot of fun games to play. The pool was nice but somewhat smaller than the pictures make it appear. The master bedroom bed was fairly comfortable. The double washer and dryer was great. There were lots of beach amenities to utilize including tons of beach towels, toys, coolers, umbrella and chairs. The owner was very responsive. I asked the owner if we could drop off our bags early since we were arriving early in the day which she arranged with the cleaner immediately for me. Negative: Upon arriving at the house the cleaner was in the garage doing laundry. When she turned around and saw us pull into the driveway she threw her hands in the air and mouthed "what the duck". She claimed she was not informed of the early luggage drop off and was not welcoming at first. I asked if there by chance was any clean beach towels we could use which she denied initially. When I questioned the open dryer with towels she went inside and produced the towels I requested. The house flooring was split between tile and cheap laminate. I don't know if it was installation or repeated water exposure from the pool/humidity in Florida but you could feel the flooring move and see it bubbled up throughout the house. All three garbage bins were full from the previous booking and placed at the end of the driveway from day 1. The owner did request an early pick up from the city after I asked about it, otherwise we would have had full garbage cans sitting in the driveway the entire week of our stay. The master bathroom had a beautiful shower but we had ongoing issues with getting the shower water to stop running throughout the stay. The fan/light in the master bathroom flickered faintly all night long even with the light turned off. The living room couch was cute but uncomfortable. My BIGGEST complaint of this property was a HUGE ant infestation. The main area of concern was one of the secondary bedrooms where my daughter slept. I know Florida has bugs but I mean thousands of ants. She had ants in her bed and her hair. There were numerous ants in the bathroom and some throughout the rest of the house as well. Again the owner was very responsive and had pest control come out, who said this was not a common issue. I'm assuming it was in part due to the previous week's occupants because the cleaner said they trashed the house when we arrived. There was hair and debris in the bottom of the freezer and a good coating of dust on most upper surfaces.
